For Immediate Release: April 12, 2011
Denver, Colorado - Officials from Orion Multimedia, the world leader in outdoor Adventure programming, have announced that fans looking to learn from Bob Foulkrod's vast hunting knowledge will soon have a new avenue to gather tips and information. This July, the host of Winchester Legends will be launching a free online magazine, Bob Foulkrod's Outdoor Adventure Magazine that will bring together articles from experts across the outdoor industry and build upon episodes of the popular television show.
"My online magazine will be a tremendous resource for hunters and outdoorsman. Beyond the 'how-to, where-to' articles, we'll be doing product reviews that won't be dictated by advertisers so it will be real, honest reporting," Foulkrod stated. "This isn't run by hype; it's people who have used the products who can tell how they actually work."
Although the magazine will be online only, it will have the look of a printed magazine even allowing readers to turn pages. Noted writers featured in the first magazine include Ted Nugent, whitetail expert and fellow star of an Orion television show David Morris, as well as an article by Orion President Chris Dorsey on making quality outdoor programs.
At first it will be published bi-monthly, but Foulkrod says that when it reaches 500,000 subscribers it will likely move to a monthly publication - and it's already halfway there. He says that they are hoping to reach one million subscribers by early 2012.
The first edition of the magazine will be released in coordination with the next season of Winchester Legends set to air in July on Versus. This season will include a particularly special caribou hunt on the Leaf River in Quebec where Foulkrod brings his wife and spreads his father's ashes. In addition, the film crew captured tremendous footage of a 170-class whitetail buck breeding a doe in Wisconsin two days before Foulkrod harvested the deer with a Winchester shotgun. Other episodes will span the globe on dramatic hunts such as a black bear hunt in British Columbia and much more.
"If I wanted to hunt there or go there, I've already done it," said Foulkrod. So now I'm going back to the most special places to pass on the knowledge I have gained through the years.
Preparations are already under way for filming of the 2012 season with plans for a trip to Tanzania. Elephant and buffalo hunting as well as a mountain goat and brown bear hunt are in the works.
Bob Foulkrod is one of the "Stars of Orion" and his more detailed biography, along with those of the other hosts of Orion television series, can be found at www.thestarsoforion.com.
