Denver, Colorado -Officials from Orion Entertainment announced that 1.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the premiere of Kodiak on Discovery Channel Wednesday night- -ranking it 12th that night in all of cable TV in the coveted male 25-54 demo. "We're pleased to see the inaugural episode kick-off with strong numbers," says Orion president Chris Dorsey. "Now we hope to build on that solid foundation."
In addition, Orion's The Treehouse Guys, is a one-hour pilot that will debut on Friday, June 13 at 11pm Eastern on DIY. The show follows a team of professional treehouse builders as they construct a treetop retreat in one of Oahu, Hawaii's most stunning beach front settings. While Kaneohe Bay may be the scenic backdrop for the build, it's not all paradise for the treehouse guys. On a tight deadline, they scramble to find local and salvaged building materials on the island, work in rain or shine, and rely on the help of some local Hawaiians to give their clients the treehouse of their dreams. This show is stacked with a fun cast of characters, great DIY tips, and one jaw dropping reveal.
The company also announces that a pair of pilots called Living Big Sky will premiere this spring on HGTV. The series tracks the move of families from across the country as they head to Montana for a new life and witness the state's stunning landscapes, colorful characters, and creative architecture.
